To setup your domain using Namecheap, you need to make sure you already get the IP address value for your A record from your Pages account.

If you still do not have the IP address value you can refer back on the custom domain tutorial :

Setting Up Namecheap Custom Domain

1. Once you already have the value, you can log in to your Namecheap account.

2. Click the Account drop-down menu and select "Dashboard".

3. Click "Domain List" and click the "Manage" button for the domain you wish to set up.

4. Click "Advanced DNS".

5. Find the Host Records section and click "Add New Record".

Setup for A record

  1. Next, you can click on the ADD NEW RECORD button again and from the menu that will appear, you can select A Record.

    • Type : A record

    • Host : @

    • Value : IP Address

    • TTL : Automatic

Setup for CNAME record

  1. Next you can select CNAME Record from the menu.

    • Type : CNAME

    • Host : www

    • Value : @ or your own domain name

    • TTL : Automatic

Attention: Make sure your setup only has A records and CNAME records, other records such as URL Redirect records can be removed from the setup.

Once done you can click on Save all changes and for this setting.

You have to wait at least 48 hours before it can be read. Once your domain is usable you can enter your domain in the settings in Commerce. Please refer Propagation Period

Propagation Period

The propagation period is approximately 48 hours. You need to wait for the settings to take effect and for your domain to be ready for use before making custom domain settings in Shoppegram.

The quickest time for your domain to become usable is within 1 hour. However, you may need to wait up to 72 hours for the settings to take effect. You can check the status of your domain propagation via the link provided (https://www.whatsmydns.net/).

Additional information:

To ensure that your DNS has been pointed to your Commerce, you can check your DNS here and make sure that the displayed DNS is your own IP number.

In the A record dropdown, you can enter your domain name without the www.

  1. Referring to the image below, to check if your domain has propagated.

You can enter your domain name (including www if you have set up CNAME record in your Domain Provider) in the provided field.
